Will there be any light gaps on the sides after installation?

There will be a gap of approximately 2 millimeters.

Do I need to subtract 1/8 inches when filling in the width?

Yes, to ensure smooth free stop sliding, a gap must be left between the fabric and the glass. You can subtract 0.12“-0.125".
