FAQs about Curtain Rods & Tracks

Is it better to do curtain rods or rails?

Curtain rods and curtain tracks differ significantly in their design and function. Curtain rod are typically wall-mounted and often extend outward, featuring decorative styles such as rounded, trumpet, or square ends. These rods come in both telescopic and fixed varieties, emphasizing aesthetic appeal.

On the other hand, curtain tracks are linear rails specifically designed for hanging curtains and draperies. They facilitate horizontal sliding for convenient window access and can be installed either ceiling-mounted for a streamlined look or wall-mounted, often in a discreet white finish.

Roman rods are typically made from metal or wood, while curtain tracks can be aluminum, plastic, or steel, depending on the weight and type of curtains or drapes they will support.

No matter which curtain for rod you choose, both EaseEase curtain rods and tracks are made of aluminum alloy, ensuring exceptional weight capacity. They also feature built-in silent strips for smooth and quiet operation.

If your ceiling height is below 8 feet, we recommend ceiling-mounted tracks to create a floor-to-ceiling effect, making the space appear larger. If your ceiling height is above 9 feet, we suggest our curtain rods, which offer an elegant and decorative touch.

Can curtain rod and curtain tracks support heavy curtains?

EaseEase curtain rods and tracks support heavyweight curtains and extra-long, extra-high extensions. Please ensure they are installed into studs rather than drywall for secure mounting.

Are Curtain rods and curtain tracks suitable for all window types?

In most cases, curtain rods and curtain tracks are compatible with various window types. Curtain rods are typically wall-mounted (side installation), while curtain tracks are suitable for both ceiling and side installation. Both can be configured as double rods.

For special window shapes, such as irregular bay windows, a curved rail is required, which means only curtain tracks can be used. However, for 90-degree corner windows, curtain rods are more commonly used.

How to measure for curtain rods and tracks?

When calculating curtain rail width, we typically refer to the measurement excluding the finials (decorative rod ends). The rail width should match your curtain panel width, which is usually window width + 16 inches for optimal coverage.

If you plan to install curtains across the entire wall, you’ll need to subtract the rod header size from your total measurement:

  • Roman rods require a 5.7-inch deduction
  • Curtain tracks require a 1.2-inch deduction

To avoid measurement errors, we recommend leaving some extra space. Click here to learn more about how to measure for curtains.

How to hang Curtain rods or curtain tracks, which is easier to install?

EaseEase curtain rods and tracks have a similar installation process and can be easily DIY-ed at home. We recommend using a stud finder to locate the studs in your wall before installation. Simply secure the mounting brackets to the studs with screws, and you're all set.

Check out our step-by-step installation guide with images, and watch the video tutorial for a visual walkthrough.

Do I need to buy additional accessories after purchasing EASEEASE curtain rod or tracks?

You don’t need to purchase any extra accessories, as we typically provide additional spare parts of various types for your convenience.

Do you offer no-drill curtain rods like tension rods or magnetic rods?

Currently, EaseEase do not offer no-drill curtain rods such as tension rods or magnetic rods. These types of rods are best suited for lightweight sheer curtains and are not strong enough for heavier drapes. Our priority is to ensure that our curtain rails can support all the curtains we sell, which is why they require drilling for secure installation. Each bracket can hold approximately 5kg-10kg, providing strong and reliable support.

Do you offer corner curtain rods or bay window curtain rods?

For special window shapes, we offer curved curtain rods, which are highly flexible and can be freely bent into the desired arc. They support both ceiling and wall mounting, allowing multiple adjustments to fit various window layouts. Plus, they feature an ultra-slim and smooth design for a sleek, seamless look.
