Roman shades offer a quality of drape that flat blinds and roller shades cannot replicate — fabric that folds rather than rolls, with a softness that shifts the entire feeling of a room. Available in a wide range of fabrics from light-filtering to full blackout. Measure Width and Length Correctly
Shades can be inside or outside mounted. Considering the window frame depth is the first step.

- 3/8 inch headrail deduction taken at your actual measuring to ensure the side does not touch the edges tightly；
- Note there will be slight gaps on the sides due to fabric deductions.

Will a Roman shade fully block light in a bedroom, or does light leak at the edges?
With the blackout lining, the fabric itself blocks the light. But Roman shades sit slightly forward of the wall, so a little light can enter around the edges. For the darkest room, use an inside mount (needs 2.5" depth) or pair the shade with side curtains. An outside mount that overlaps the frame also helps.
What's the difference between light-filtering, room darkening, and blackout?
Light-filtering fabric lets a soft glow through with daytime privacy; room darkening cuts most light for media rooms and naps; blackout (with liner) blocks light through the fabric for bedrooms. You choose the fabric and liner on this page.
Should I inside-mount or outside-mount, and what depth do I need?
Inside mount gives a built-in look and needs at least 2.5" of window depth (we deduct 3/8" so it clears the frame). Outside mount has no depth requirement, covers the whole frame, and blocks more light — add 2–3" on each side and to the top.
Are these Roman shades cordless and child-safe?
Yes. The standard lift is a cordless free-stop system with no dangling cords, so it's safe around children and pets. A motorized option (remote, app, or voice control) is also available.
Can you match my existing curtains, or can I send my own fabric?

How much of the window does the shade cover when raised (stack height)?
When fully raised, the folded fabric stacks about 9–14" at the top, depending on the shade's height and fold style — taller shades stack a bit higher. Keep this in mind if you want the maximum view when the shade is open.
How long does it take, and is shipping free?
Every shade is made to order, with delivery typically in 2–4 weeks and free shipping on orders over $300. If we make a mistake we remake it free; if you mismeasure, we offer 50% off a reorder.
How do I clean a linen Roman shade?
Regular dusting or vacuuming keeps it fresh, and you can gently spot-clean marks with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash or dry clean.
