Measure Width and Length Correctly
Shades can be inside or outside mounted. Considering the window frame depth is the first step.
-
- A clean, built-in look, 3 inches minimum depth requirement;
- 3/8 inch headrail deduction taken at your actual measuring to ensure the side does not touch the edges tightly;
- Note there will be slight gaps on the sides due to fabric deductions.
-
- No minimum depth requirement.
- We recommend ordering additional width 4-6 inches to prevent light gaps on the sides of your window.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do zebra blinds work?
Zebra blinds feature alternating sheer and opaque fabric stripes that can be adjusted to control light and privacy. By aligning the sheer sections, you allow natural light in, and by overlapping the opaque stripes, you achieve more privacy and light filtering.
How to measure for OUTSIDE MOUNT zebra shades?
For window frame depths less than 2 “, Measure window width including mouldings and add 2”, Measure window height including mouldings and add 3"
When filling in the width for INSIDE MOUNT, do I need to subtract ⅜ inch?
Yes. If your window casing width is 50", you should order width 49-5/8".(deduct 3/8 inch by yourself)
If I want to have shade inside mounted, what is the minimum window depth?
For zebra blinds, it needs to be at least 3 inches.
What is the difference between zebra blinds and Shangri-La blinds?
Zebra blinds have distinct alternating stripes, while Shangri-La blinds use a softer, more seamless sheer fabric with floating vanes. Shangri-La blinds offer a more elegant, diffused light effect, while zebra blinds provide a structured look with adjustable light control.
Where can zebra blinds be used? Are they suitable for living room & sliding doors?
Our zebra blinds are waterproof, stain-resistant, mold-resistant, and UV-protected, making them suitable for almost any space, including living rooms, bedrooms, offices, and kitchens. They can be used on sliding doors, but since they operate as a single roller, panel track blinds or vertical blinds might be better alternatives for large doors.
Can zebra blinds provide full blackout? Are they suitable for bedrooms?
EaseEase zebra blinds can be made with blackout fabric, making them a great option for bedrooms. However, due to the design of alternating stripes, there will still be small gaps between the stripes that allow some light in. If full blackout is required, layering with curtains is recommended.
Do zebra blinds look good with curtains?
Yes! Zebra blinds and curtains make a stylish combination. The blinds provide adjustable light control, while curtains add softness, elegance, and extra blackout if needed. This pairing works especially well in bedrooms and living rooms.
Are white zebra blinds easy to maintain?
Yes! EaseEase white zebra blinds are designed to resist stains and dust. Regular dusting and occasional wiping with a damp cloth or a mild soapy solution will keep them looking fresh.
What are the disadvantages of zebra blinds?
- Depth Requirement: They require at least 3 inches of depth for inside mounting.
- Not 100% Blackout: Due to the gaps between stripes, they cannot achieve full blackout.
- Limited Coverage for Large Windows: For extra-wide windows or sliding doors, alternative solutions like panel blinds or vertical blinds might be better.
