Shades & Blinds

On this site, shades and blinds mean the same thing — both refer to fabric-based window coverings that roll, fold, or stack to cover the window. The word "blind" is sometimes used for slat-based venetian styles, but EaseEase uses both terms interchangeably across our full range of fabric shades.

Start with your light and privacy needs. For bedrooms needing total darkness, choose Double Roller Blinds or Double Cell Honeycomb Shades. For living rooms and kitchens wanting soft light, choose Linen Roller, Zebra Blinds, or Shangri-La Sheer Shades. For glare reduction with a view, choose Solar Shades. For a natural look, choose bamboo or roman shades. For moisture-prone rooms, choose Solar Shades (waterproof fabric) or 1-inch Waterproof Honeycomb Shades — bamboo and linen absorb moisture and are not suitable for wet rooms.

Yes — all EaseEase shades are available cordless, and cordless is the standard for our full range. With no dangling cords, the strangulation hazard is eliminated. Shangri-La Sheer Shades are the only corded style in this collection. All other shades ship cordless by default and are fully child-safe.

Yes, especially Double Cell Honeycomb Shades — the 1.5-inch air pockets trap heat at the window and can noticeably reduce heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. Roller, roman, and bamboo shades add a smaller insulating layer but do not have the same performance. For the biggest energy savings, choose the Double Cell Honeycomb or Top-Down Bottom-Up Honeycomb Shades.

First decide between an inside mount (inside the window frame, clean built-in look) and an outside mount (on the wall above the frame, which covers more and blocks more light). For inside mounts, measure the width in three places and take the smallest, rounding down to the nearest 1/8 inch; measure the height in three places and take the largest, rounding up to the nearest 1/8 inch. Then subtract the deduction shown on that product's page before you order — we make every shade to exactly the size you submit and do not apply any deduction for you. For outside mounts, add 2 to 3 inches on each side and at the top. All EaseEase shades are custom-made to your exact specifications — contact us if you need help confirming measurements before ordering.

For kitchens and bathrooms, the waterproof options are Solar Shades (waterproof solar fabric, also provides UV and glare control) and 1-inch Waterproof Honeycomb Shades (specifically designed for high-moisture rooms). Linen Roller Shades are NOT waterproof. Bamboo, woven wood, and roman shades made from natural fibers are also NOT suitable for wet or high-humidity environments.

For total blackout: Double Roller Blinds (a genuine blackout roller + sheer roller in one cassette) or Double Cell Honeycomb Shades in blackout fabric. Both deliver complete darkness. Zebra Blinds and Shangri-La Sheer Shades are room darkening — they significantly dim the room and block direct sightlines but are not completely lightproof. If complete darkness for sleep is your priority, choose Double Roller or Blackout Honeycomb Shades.

Yes — EaseEase has a dedicated no-drill collection. No-Drill Zebra Shades, No-Drill Roller Blinds, No-Drill Honeycomb Shades, and No-Drill Solar Shades all use a tension bracket system that requires no screws and no wall damage. They support widths up to 70 inches and work on smooth surfaces including glass, tile, PVC trim, and smooth painted drywall. For rough or textured surfaces, a drilled mount is required.
