Because they mount overhead against gravity, these shades are built into a rigid aluminum frame and use a steel wire tension system to stay flat against the glass — where standard coverings sag or slide. A motorized option is available — virtually silent, with 6–8 months of battery per charge — so you can raise and lower a high skylight by remote, or by voice through Google Home and Amazon Alexa, with no ladder.

Before you order — honest fit notes:
- Built with an aluminum frame for overhead rigidity, so the maximum width is 67". For arched, triangular, or other vertical specialty shapes, we make a separate specialty-shape shade — just ask.
- If the window frame is out of square, the shade may not slide smoothly along the tracks.
- For 100% blackout, edges must be sealed. The blackout fabric blocks light, but total darkness requires sealing the gaps around the shade with caulk or seal strips.
Best For: Skylights, roof windows, and overhead glazing that standard blinds cannot cover.

Choose Motorized
If your skylight is high or hard to reach, go motorized. It runs virtually silent, holds a charge for 6–8 months, and pairs with Google Home and Amazon Alexa for voice control — one remote runs up to 15 shades, all backed by a 3-year free-replacement guarantee.
Choose Blackout + Seal
Want full darkness? Pick a Blackout fabric and seal the edge gaps with caulk or seal strips. The fabric blocks the light; sealing the edges is what gets you to 100%.
Choose Cordless
For a small skylight, a child’s room, or the lowest price, cordless is the clean, child-safe choice (up to 39" wide, 98" tall).
