The heavyweight linen blackout curtains interior designers keep coming back to. Every time we walk a client through a design consultation on video, this fabric quietly steals the show.

Most curtain fabrics play it thin. Unlike lightweight blackout curtains, this one is intentionally substantial — 430gsm, with a natural surface texture and fine weave detail that you can see and feel. The moment it's hung, the weight and drape do the talking. The room shifts immediately.

All 9 colors sit in a Morandi palette — low saturation, composed, never competing with the walls or furniture. Even the deeper shades stay understated. They work with almost any style without asking much in return.

The white is our best-selling color. It reads as warm off-white in person — more nuanced than pure white, more forgiving too. Strong enough on its own that these white blackout curtains work in north-facing bedrooms without any additional lining.

If you want your bedroom to feel considered but don't know where to start, these linen blackout curtains are the safest choice you can make. They work just as well in living rooms — more natural and refined than a standard blackout panel.

Small tip: we recommend pinch pleat style — the draw is smoother and quieter.

These are heavyweight 430gsm linen-blend blackout curtains, custom-made in a 9-color Morandi palette. The substantial weight gives a natural linen texture with a smooth, floor-hanging drape — far more refined than a thin polyester blackout panel. The best-selling warm off-white is opaque enough to darken a north-facing bedroom without any extra lining; deeper shades or an added blackout lining give full darkness in bright rooms. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, machine washable, and best for bedrooms and living rooms. From $56.40.

Choosing the Right Curtain Header Style

The curtain header style can really change the look of your room. Whether it's a modern grommet, a classic rod pocket, or a neat pinch pleat, each style offers something unique. Think about what fits your space and what works best for light control !

Curtain Header Guide

Measure Width and Length Correctly

  • Rail Width

    • If you have a curtain track already, please upload its width (excluding the rod head);
    • If you don't have one, measure the desired curtain fabric width—usually the window frame width plus 16-20 inches.
  • Drop Length

    • The curtain fabric height typically extends 8 inches above the window frame;
    • For Pleated style, measure from track ring to floor; For Grommet & Rod Pocket, measure from rod top to floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these true blackout curtains?

The heavyweight 430gsm linen-blend weave blocks the large majority of light and strongly darkens a room on its own — enough for restful sleep in most bedrooms. For 100% blackout in a very bright, east- or west-facing room, choose a deeper Morandi shade or add a blackout lining at checkout.

Does the white color actually block light?

Yes. The white reads as a warm off-white in person and, thanks to the heavyweight weave, is opaque enough to darken a north-facing bedroom without any extra lining. It's our best-selling color for exactly this reason. In a bright, sun-facing room, add a blackout lining for full darkness.

Is this real linen, and will it wrinkle a lot?

It's a heavyweight linen blend — natural linen texture and fine weave detail combined with stable polymers for durability and shape. At 430gsm the weight helps it hang smoothly and resist the heavy creasing of pure linen, so you get the linen look without constant ironing.

Are the fabrics safe and non-toxic for kids and nurseries?

Yes. The fabric is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, meaning it's tested free from harmful substances. It's gentle on skin and safe for children and pets, and every curtain is professionally cleaned and sanitized before shipping.

Do these help with insulation and noise?

Yes. The 430gsm heavyweight fabric adds a layer of thermal insulation at the window — helping keep rooms warmer in winter and cooler in summer — and its density muffles outside noise noticeably better than thin, lightweight panels.

What header style should I choose?

We recommend pinch pleat for this fabric — the pleats give the heavyweight drape a smoother, quieter draw and a tailored look. Other header styles are available; see our header style guide to compare.

How do I wash and care for them?

They're machine washable in cold water — cover the header with a sock to protect your machine, then hang to air-dry. Do not use hot water or a tumble dryer, as heat can cause shrinkage. They arrive cleaned and sanitized, and only need washing about every 3–5 years.

Are these body-memory shaped like your other curtains?

No — linen curtains are not high-temperature memory-shaped, because that process would flatten the natural linen texture. Instead, the heavyweight 430gsm weight does the work: it pulls the panels straight for a clean, floor-hanging drape with beautiful folds and no flaring at the hem.

FAQs About Curtains

How to measure the curtains that I need?

We have created a detailed measurement guide for you.

How do you determine the width of pleated curtains?

For pleated curtains, the panel width refers to the width with the pleats already set. Typically, we use twice the amount of fabric to create pleats and folds, ensuring the best possible effect. The panel width is measured from the left end of the pleats to the right end of the pleats, not from the left side hem to the right side hem.

How do you determine the length for pleated style drapery?

Measure the length from the eyelet on the ring to the floor to determine the drapery length for pleated styles.

Do I need to account for the fullness when choosing a pleated header style?

For pleated curtains, the pleats are permanently sewn, we typically using 200% fullness. For example, if the rod or track length is 100 inches, you may order two panels, each 50 inches wide, for pinch pleated or tailor pleated header styles. You can also order wider panels if you prefer more fullness.

What does stacking width refer to?

Typically, stacking width amounts to about 20% of the ordered width. Therefore, when choosing the rod length, please remember to account for the stacking width if you want the window opening to be fully visible when the drapery is opened.

Do I need to buy pin hooks for the pleated curtain style?

The order includes plastic adjustable pin hooks for pinch pleat styles and metal hooks for tailor pleat styles. The plastic adjustable pin hooks enable you to adjust the curtain length within a 3-inch range. Please note, rod rings need to be purchased separately.

Are there instructions for the number of pleats for pleated curtains?

The recommended number of pleats and pin hooks are as follows: 10 pleats for 50" width, 13 pleats for 72" width, 15 pleats for 84" width, 19 pleats for 100" width, 21 pleats for 110" width, 23 pleats for 120" width, and 27 pleats for 150" width. Please note, the width and spacing of the pleats may slightly vary depending on the length of your track or pole.

What size is required for sewing double-width curtains?

  • For pleated header styles such as pinch pleat, tailor pleat, inverted pleated box, goblet, and tape pleat: If the curtain finished length is over 108 inches, the maximum finished curtain width without a seam is 56 inches. If the curtain length is less than 108 inches, there is no seam restriction for any curtain finished width. Otherwise, the width needs to be double-wide with a vertical seam.
  • For pleated header styles such as triple pleat and triple tailor pleat: If the curtain finished length is over 108 inches, the maximum finished curtain width without a seam is 50 inches. If the curtain length is less than 108 inches, there is no seam restriction for any curtain finished width. Otherwise, the width needs to be double-wide with a vertical seam.

What is the maximum width for curtains that have a body memory shape?

The maximum width of body memory shaped curtains is 160 inches.

Is body memory shaping necessary for my curtains?

Except for the linen curtains, we use high-temperature setting for every curtain. EASEEASE Memory Shape Training Curtain Technology enables the fabric to retain a crisp vertical line from ceiling to floor. After being shaped by body memory, your drapes will hang straight, featuring beautiful folds and no flaring at the bottom. This is unlike regular curtain fabrics, which often lose their shape towards the bottom

How long will the curtains maintain their shape after being trained with body memory?

It is permanent.

Can I machine wash the curtains?

Except for our blackout edges, everything else is machine washable. EASEEASE curtains can be washed for a lifetime and still maintain their shape. However, please note that they should only be washed in cold water. Do not use a dryer or hot water, as this will cause shrinkage. After washing, hang them to dry.
