It saw widespread use in medieval Europe and was introduced to the Americas during the colonial era. Today, Ramie is gaining attention again due to the demand for sustainable materials in fashion and home décor.

What is Jute?

Jute has a long history. In ancient Egypt and ancient India, people already used jute to make clothing, ropes and various supplies. Jute was used extensively in Europe during the Middle Ages, particularly in textiles, rope and canvas making. With the colonial era, jute was introduced to the Americas and became an important raw material for European markets. However, with the rise of synthetic fibers, jute's use gradually declined. Recently, jute has attracted renewed attention due to the demand for sustainable materials.

Measure Width and Length Correctly

Shades can be inside or outside mounted. Considering the window frame depth is the first step.

    • Headrail Size: 1 1/2 inches H x 2 3/8 inches D
    • Valance height: 6 inches for shades 18" and over, 4 inches for shades under 18".
    • Bracket Size: 1 1/2 inches H x 1 7/8 inches D
    • A clean, built-in look, 2 3/4 inches minimum depth requirement；
    • 3/8 -1/2 inch headrail deduction taken at your actual measuring to ensure the side does not touch the edges tightly
    • No minimum depth requirement.
    • We recommend ordering additional width 8 inches to prevent light gaps on the sides of your window.

For window frame depths less than 2 3/8“

  • Measure window width including mouldings and add ½”
  • Measure window height including mouldings and add 7-8"

Yes. If your window casing width is 50", you should order width 49-5/8".(deduct 3/8 inch by yourself)
