Avoid hot water, tumble drying and ironing directly on the pile (steam lightly from the back if needed). Hang the panels back up while still slightly damp and the velvet naturally regains its smooth, structured drape without drying out or going stiff.

Velvet is more fade-resistant than lightweight fabrics thanks to its dense pile, so it holds up better under strong sun. For darker colours — which can show fading more over time under harsh west-facing sun — we recommend adding a blackout lining to protect the velvet face and keep the colour rich for longer.
