EaseEase top down bottom up cellular shades are designed for privacy-sensitive bedrooms and west-facing windows.

Double-cell honeycomb structure provides superior thermal and acoustic performance. The top-down bottom-up cellular shades operation gives you independent control of upper and lower zones — lower the top rail to let daylight in above while keeping the lower part of the window covered for privacy, raise the shade from the bottom to open the lower part of the window, or adjust both rails. Same thermal core as our premium honeycomb line.

  • Top-down bottom-up cellular shades — independent upper and lower zone control
  • Double-cell thermal structure — heat, cold, and acoustic insulation
  • Cordless, permanent shaping, child safe
  • Available in light-filtering and blackout options, in multiple colors

Best For: West-facing windows, bedrooms with direct street exposure, and home offices that need daylight without sacrificing privacy.

For cordless operation, always raise and lower the shade gently from the center, moving straight up or down. Do not pull from either side or at an angle, as this can cause uneven operation or damage. Keep children from tugging or playing with the shade. For very wide windows, contact us for sizing advice.

EaseEase top-down bottom-up double-cell honeycomb shades — you control the upper and lower halves of the window independently. Lower the shade from the top to let in sky light while keeping the lower pane covered for street-level privacy, raise it from the bottom, or use both at once. The double-cell honeycomb traps two layers of air for strong thermal and acoustic insulation, and it’s cordless and child-safe. Custom-made in 19 colors. From $166.00.

Privacy Where You Need It. Daylight Where You Want It.

Top-down bottom-up shade with the upper window open for daylight and the lower window covered for privacy

Street-Facing Windows

Lower the shade from the top to let daylight in while keeping the lower window covered. Ideal for street-facing bedrooms and ground-floor living spaces.

Top-down bottom-up cellular shade providing privacy and daylight in a bathroom

Bathrooms & Private Spaces

Keep the lower window covered for privacy while letting light in above. Use in well-ventilated bathrooms, away from direct splashes and persistent moisture.

Double-cell cellular shade at a sunny west-facing window

Sunny & West-Facing Rooms

Double-cell construction helps slow heat transfer for greater comfort at sunny windows. Adjust the shade to soften harsh daylight while keeping light where you want it.

Good to know: The top-down bottom-up mechanism uses a center vertical pull, so it’s best for standard and moderate window widths rather than very wide spans. Always raise and lower from the center of the shade.

  • Silky Feel. Built Tougher.

Unlike the thin, paper-like fabric found in some cellular shades, our tear-resistant fabric combines a smooth, silky finish with strength for everyday use.

  • Larger Cells. Double-Layer Comfort.

Our large 1 1/2“ cell, double-honeycomb design creates two insulating air layers to help slow heat transfer and keep your space more comfortable.

  • Solid Aluminum. Refined Finish.

All-aluminum alloy rails bring a sturdy feel and a clean, polished finish to your window.

Measure Width and Length Correctly

Shades can be inside or outside mounted. Considering the window frame depth is the first step.

    • A clean, built-in look, 2 inches minimum depth requirement;
    • 1/4 inch headrail deduction taken at your actual measuring to ensure the side does not touch the edges tightly;
    • Note there will be slight gaps on the sides due to fabric deductions.
    • No minimum depth requirement.
    • We recommend ordering additional width 4-6 inches to prevent light gaps on the sides of your window.

Maintain Elegance with Simple Everyday Habits

  • Correct Operation

    • Always pull from the center to keep force balanced.
    • Lower slowly and evenly.
  • Common Mistakes to Avoid

    • Side pulling: it strains the fabric and rollers.
    • Pull at an angle.
    • Let it snap down.
  • Do-Not-Do for Motorized Shades

    • Never force a stuck shade stop or realign.
    • Keep the path clear.
    • Let each cycle finish before reversing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "top-down bottom-up" mean and how does it work?

The EaseEase shade has two independent zones. You can lower it from the top to let light in through the upper part while the bottom stays covered, raise it from the bottom like a normal shade, or set both at once. This lets you get daylight and privacy at the same time — something a standard one-way shade can't do.

Are these cordless and child- and pet-safe?

Yes. The cordless design has no dangling pull cords, making it a child-friendly choice. Always operate the shade gently from the center, moving straight up or down. Keep children from tugging or playing with the shade: pulling from either side or at an angle can damage the shade or cause uneven operation.

How much do double-cell honeycomb shades help with heat and energy?

The double-cell (twin honeycomb) structure traps two separate layers of air at the window, which slows heat transfer better than a single-cell shade. That means less heat gain on west-facing windows in summer and less heat loss in winter, helping keep rooms comfortable and easing your heating and cooling load.

Do they reduce outside noise?

Yes. The trapped air in the double honeycomb cells absorbs and dampens sound, so street and outdoor noise is noticeably softer than with a flat roller or blind — a helpful bonus for bedrooms and home offices.

Are these light-filtering or full blackout?

Both light-filtering and blackout options are available. Choose light-filtering fabric to soften daylight while keeping the room bright, or blackout fabric for stronger light blocking. Lower the top rail to let daylight in above while keeping the lower part of the window covered for privacy. Light can still enter around the edges, depending on the installation. Order free swatches to compare fabrics before choosing.

How do I measure - inside or outside mount?

For an inside mount, you need a window depth of at least 2 inches. Subtract 1/4 inch from your measured casing width when ordering (for example, a 50-inch casing = order 49 3/4 inches). For an outside mount, add 4–6 inches to the total window width for better side coverage. Follow the measuring guide for the height and mounting position. Small side light gaps are normal with inside mounts.

Do they work on very wide windows?

Top-down bottom-up shades work best on standard and moderate widths because the mechanism uses a center vertical pull. For very wide windows we recommend splitting into two shades on one headrail or choosing a different style — text us your measurements and we'll advise the best setup.

What colors and sizes are available?

These come in 19 colors, from Frost White and neutral greys to Sage Leaf, Tiffany Teal, and Deep Marsala, and every shade is custom-made to your exact window size. Order free swatches to see the colors in your own light before deciding.
